The LBJ Student Center Parking Garage, located at Student Center Drive and Comanche in front of the LBJ Student Center, provides convenient parking for faculty, staff, students and visitors for a nominal fee. The Parking Garage is also within walking distance of the following Texas State buildings: Health Science Building, College Inn, Jackson Hall, Alkek Library, and numerous other buildings.

Texas State campus parking permits are not required to park in the garage. We encourage you to make parking arrangement when planning special events, as there is no visitors' parking around the LBJ Student Center.

The Student Center Parking Garage offers Texas State departments a 50% discount off the regular rate. Non-Texas State groups and student organizations need to pay the regular rate. The garage also offers parking contracts and debit cards for frequent daily users.

How to Make Parking Payments

The Student Center Parking Garage offers our customers free parking after daily closing of the garage. However, vehicles that remain in the garage at the time of closing will be issued payment notices. The payment notice provides clear instructions on how, where and when to pay. A full day of parking is $7.00, but if you parked less than six hours you may owe less than $7.00 (see below for parking rates and hours). Please keep your magnetic strip ticket to prove the length of time you parked. If you lose or have lost the original ticket, you must pay the daily maximum rate of $7.00. Vehicle owners have fifteen (15) business days to make payments to avoid the assessment of an additional $15.00 late fee for each notice issued for a total of $22.00 per notice. Payments can be made in the LBJ Student Center Business Office, room 2-13 or mailed to:

After payment has been received, please allow 24 hours for applicable holds to be released. If you are a student, a hold will be placed on your school record through the Student Center Business Office in addition to the fine for late payments. If you are not a student, your file will be forwarded and you will be advised of the steps you will need to take to clear the parking ticket.

From IH-35 (Austin)

Take exit 206, and turn right onto Aquarena Springs and University Drive. After crossing the San Marcos River you will come to a traffic light. Turn right onto Sessom Drive. Go to the top of the hill and turn left at Comanche Street. Turn left at the first street (Student Center Drive). Turn right before the stop sign to enter the Student Center Parking Garage. From IH-35 (San Antonio)
