A WEEK IN THE LIFE OF TEXAS STATE is a developing tradition, showcasing the talents of our student photographers and displaying the uniqueness of life at Texas State.

Each photo was taken by one of a very talented collection of students. Not all of them have training in the art of photography, but each of them has an eye for capturing the life of Texas State.

As any Texas State student knows, life at Texas State could never be fully captured in a week. Each week is diverse, welcoming new events and new people into the lives of students, faculty, and staff. This series of photos strive to capture moments as the students perceive them, and define the experience known as A Week in The Life of Texas State.

Any student may snap shots of life on campus. It can be anything from students brushing their teeth, waiting for the bus, professors in class, to sporting events or lazy days by the river. Photos will be judged on technical skill, execution of the theme, and creativity (point of view, subject matter, composition, lighting, etc.) Fifteen winning photographs will be unveiled, chosen by a panel of professional photographers and celebrity judges. Winning photographs from those submitted will then be displayed on the Fourth Floor of the LBJ Student Center as part of a year long exhibit. Photographs will also be printed in the University Star.

Participation Guidelines

1. Get the Photographers Release Form here or stop by the PALM Office (4-1.6A) in the LBJ Student Center.
2. Fill out and return Photographers Release Form to the PALM Office in the LBJ Student Center. This is a requirement for all participants!
3. TAKE PICTURES! Take a snap shot of anything that represents life at Texas State to you!
4. Start taking photos now and submit your photos to the PALM Office any time from March 4 to March 11, 2009.Maximum 3 submissions, please. The photo must be submitted as an 8 x 10 on any photo paper of your choosing. Files must be printed and not emailed or burned to CD! Make sure to submit your photos by March 11, 2009 at 5:00p.m.
5. Include Photographer’s Name, Hometown, State/Province, and Major on back of prints or attached with emailed photographs.
6. Attend the Official Unveiling for the “A Week in the Life of Texas State” on April 8, 2009 at 4p.m. in Lilly's Lounge on the fourth floor of LBJSC.
