Place An Ad

Bus Advertising is now for student organizations only!

Bus Adverting provides a great way for your organization to reach thousands of students. You may promote your organization in general or events you are hosting. Furthermore, if you design an ad that is not dated you ad may be used multiple times.

  1. Complete the reservation request form to reserve your ad space and desired Week(s) of advertising. Student organizations are eligible for the filler ad option. This guarantees you two free weeks of advertising plus the possibility of additional time as ad space is available. In other words, your ad is used as a “filler” when a frame is not in use. This option is great for organizations who wish to promote things such as membership over the semester.
  2. Fax the form to (512) 245-8245. Initial approval or denial for the ad is usually given within 1 to 2 business days. Our staff will contact you.
  3. Ad design: Unless you choose otherwise all ads are designed and printed in house.** (Design is free of charge). Graphics files must be received 2 Monday’s (2 weeks) prior to the ad’s initial run date in order for us to create and print the ad for you. If you need ideas for ad text or graphics our office staff is available to assist you. Graphics may be submitted to ocss@txstate.edu. Graphics should be submitted in the highest possible resolution.
  4. 15 copies of the ad will be printed and laminated to cover the fleet’s 12 ad capable vehicles; the leftover 3 ads will be used as replacements in the event that an ad is damaged. Ad printing cost is $165 for all 15 copies.
  5. If paying with cash, check, or credit card, payment for advertising time is due within 30 days of the advertising invoice date. An invoice with the total cost will be sent once your ad is approved for the desired run dates.
  6. After your ad has run the ads will be removed, you may pick up your ads in the Campus Activities office. Otherwise, all ads are kept on file for 6 weeks should you want to claim them.

** Ads created by the advertiser: If you choose to create the ad on your own be sure to turn in a copy of what your ad will look like to the Campus Activities office for approval BEFORE you send it to the printer. You will need to order 15, 11 X 33 ads, lamination recommended if you plan on using your ad again in the future. See operating guidelines for more details. We can have the ad printed at the University Print Shop if you have not located a printer.

Rates

 

Student Organizations may advertise their event free of advertising charges for a guaranteed 2 weeks. If space is available they may advertise for a longer period of time. Student Organizations are responsible for the printing cost associated with the ad.

2007-2008 Student Organization Printing Rate

$165 for ads that cover all of the 12 ad capable vehicles in the shuttle system.
